Job Description:
Job Summary/Objective
The Accounting and Finance Intern will assist the accounting services team with a wide range of important duties, such as month-end reporting, audit and reconciliation work, forecasting efforts, and credit checks.
Essential Functions
1. Assist with month-end financial reporting.
2. Help with AP, AR and bank statement reconciliation.
3. Assist with various audits.
4. Balance sheet reconciliation assistance.
5. Analyze WMS accounts
6. Reconcile internal system to client VMS systems
7. Analyze company data and make recommendations for action.
8. Assist with customer credit checks.
9. Learn about bookkeeping software with hands on experience.
10. Learn how to work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company and our customers.
11. Assist with GL software conversions and testing.
12. Assist with various additional projects to learn more about accounting operations.
13. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- 1. Understand and support the Vision and Values of Staffmark.
2. Current business, finance, economics, accounting or related major with a B average or better at an accredited college or university.
3. Flexible and willing to take on multiple, varied tasks with a high motivation to learn.
4. Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure with a resilient attitude towards challenges.

Work Environment
This job operates remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, copiers, printers/scanners, phones, and filing cabinets. If working in a remote office environment, a clean, designated workspace must be kept in a safe condition, free from hazards to both the employee and the equipment. Remote office positions also require reliable, high-speed internet.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to move, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time, fixed-duration internship: 16–18 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedule is flexible to accommodate school commitments but must fall within 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The internship duration is approximately one month, scheduled during the summer.
