Mental Health Is Health: A Message from Your Health and Wellness Alliance Chair

May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Staffmark, we’re taking this moment to highlight something we believe deeply: mental health is health, and every individual deserves to feel supported—whether they’re on our internal team or one of the thousands of talented professionals we place across the country.

Mental health isn’t just a topic for therapists or crisis moments—it’s a vital part of our overall well-being. Whether it’s managing stress, navigating personal or professional challenges, or simply maintaining balance, mental wellness affects every aspect of our lives.

As Chair of our Health and Wellness Alliance at Staffmark, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside passionate individuals who are committed to making wellness more than just a buzzword in our organization. This month, our goal is simple: to normalize the conversation around mental health and ensure every one of us knows it’s okay to ask for help—and more than okay to take time for ourselves.

Here’s how we encourage you—and ourselves—to prioritize mental health:

  • Check in with yourself regularly. Your feelings are valid.
  • Support your coworkers and friends. A simple “How are you, really?” can go a long way.
  • Take advantage of resources. Whether through employee assistance programs, workshops, or wellness sessions, help is available—and it works.
  • Lead by example. When we show up authentically and vulnerably, we give others permission to do the same.

Throughout May, we’ll be sharing tools, stories, and events focused on mental health and resilience. We invite you to engage—whether that’s joining a mindfulness session, reading a personal story from a colleague, or simply taking a moment to breathe.

Let’s remind ourselves and each other: Mental health is health.

Join Us This May

Let’s break the stigma—together. Follow Staffmark on social media, engage with our wellness events, and start the conversation in your own circles. You never know who might need to hear it.
